Permanent Hair Removal Solutions

Both men and women look for ways to eliminate unwanted hair growth, freeing them from the daily effort of maintaining a hair-free look on the face and body.

Most temporary methods can irritate the skin and may result in increased hair growth. These methods must be used continuously in order to maintain the look and feel desired. Constant shaving, waxing, tweezing, bleaching, depilatories and the use of home mechanical devices over a period of time can cause skin irritation, ingrown hairs and sometimes scarring. They often compound the problem rather than alleviate it.

Permanent hair removal becomes a necessity, especially for those who are discouraged by the unsuccessful results of temporary hair removal methods.

Electrolysis

Major advances have been made since electrolysis was first developed and perfected more than a century ago. Electrolysis remains the premier method of hair removal recommended by physicians and health professionals. Today's licensed electrologists use highly sophisticated technology and the professional skill to achieve safe and permanent hair removal.

Electrolysis is performed in a series of treatments. Because it takes weeks for a hair to grow and reach the surface of the skin, electrologists can only locate and treat a follicle when the hair is visible. Therefore, subsequent treatments are required to treat follicles which will ultimately produce unwanted hair.

Your first visit will include a confidential consultation, during which time your medical history will be noted. Hair growth and the electrolysis procedure will be thoroughly explained and all your questions will be answered. The professionals at Epi Center Medi Spa always welcome further discussion or offer clarification about your treatments.

Pulsed-Light Hair Removal

Pulsed-light systems work by emitting pulses of intense lamplight into the hair follicles. The light is absorbed by the pigment in the follicles and converted to heat. The heat then loosens the hair and disables the cells responsible for growing new hair.

Epi Center Medi Spa uses the Palomar Pulsed Light System, which features multiple handpieces for a variety of treatment options, such as permanent hair reduction on all skin types.

Comfortable Hair Management

Pulsed light treatments are significantly more comfortable than traditional waxing and threading treatments. In addition, since the pulses of light penetrate the skin, you do not need to let your hair grow out before you are treated. With pulsed light treatments, you can remain virtually hair-free all the time!

Super-Fast Treatments

Thanks to its advanced, technology, pulsed light systems work several times faster than other light-based hair removal systems. A woman's legs or a man's back can be treated in less than thirty minutes, and smaller areas - such as the underarms, upper lip or bikini line - can be treated in even less time!

Our pulsed light system can be used on any area, except around the eyes. The underarms, legs, back, bikini line, face, neck, etc., can all be treated... fast!

After your initial preparation, our professional, licensed staff will move a wand-like hand-piece over your skin. The handpiece emits a light that disables the hair follicles. Most people perceive the light as a gentle "snapping" sensation. Once this is completed, we wipe away any loose hair from your skin, and you're ready to go.

Pulsed-light systems and lasers are very similar and remove hair in basically the same way. However, the Palomar Pulsed Light System used at Epi Center Medi Spa uses a new technology that removes hair up to ten times faster than lasers. As a result, pulsed light treatments can fit even the busiest person's schedule.
